|Happy New Year! I hope all of you and your families have had a wonderful Christmas and a joyus New Year. Welcome back to the start of a new term and I hope this will be just as enjoyable and hard working as the first two.
This week the children have been looking at writing New Year resolutions and thinking about things that they can do better. They have written some very interesting resolutions and I look forward to seeing whether they will be carried out all year around. (Tidy bedrooms seem to be a winner!)
In maths we have been focusing upon place value and making sure we understand the value of each individual digit. The children have been using < or > signs to create math sums based on the numbers given, it has been tricky but they have worked very hard to master it.
This week we will be starting our new topic in RE which is all about Journeys. The children have thought about what a journey is and what kind of journeys that have been on previously. Throughout the topic we will be looking at the different paths that many people took during the time of Jesus and how their journey's have helped to mould our beliefs.
We have also started our new topic of the Romans this week. Before Christmas the children took part in an 'Ignite Day' which involved them investigating a little bit about the Romans and coming up with some ideas of what they would like to learn, therefore we have started to use their ideas in our learning.
Can I please remind you that spellings have started back up and we will be on Week 2 on Monday. Thank you!
