A Cuppa and a Chat: For Parents Navigating ALN

We’re pleased to let you know that we will be holding fortnightly Coffee and Chat sessions here at school, especially for parents and carers of children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), or for those who may have concerns about their child’s development, behaviour, or wellbeing.

These sessions are designed to be a friendly, supportive space where parents can connect with each other,  a chance to:

  • Chat with other parents who “just get it”
  • Let off steam in a safe and understanding environment
  • Share advice, worries, and ideas
  • Or simply enjoy a quiet cuppa and some company

You don’t need a formal diagnosis to attend. If you have any concerns about your child, or just want to connect with others in similar situations, you are very welcome.

🗓 First session: Tuesday, 21st October at 2:00 PM
📍 Location: The Prayer Room, OLA School
Tea, coffee, and biscuits provided!

We know parenting can be tough — especially when you're navigating challenges around learning, behaviour, or additional needs — but please remember: you are not alone.

Come as you are. Say as much or as little as you like. Sometimes, just being in the room with others who understand can make a big difference.

Please note: this is not a space to discuss your child’s educational needs with staff (you can use the appointment system for that). This is all about giving you a non-judgemental space to feel supported.

We hope to see you there!
