New Mobile Enforcement Car

From Monday 3rd November, a new mobile enforcement car will be in operation to help enforce parking restrictions and improve road safety around schools.

The vehicle is equipped with CCTV cameras that will record footage of vehicles parked in contravention of restrictions, including:

  • Outside schools
  • In bus stops
  • On zig-zag lines

Warning Period

A two-week warning period will begin on Monday 3rd November. During this time, any vehicle found parked in restricted areas will receive an automatic warning notice by post.

Full Enforcement

Starting Monday 17th November, full enforcement will begin. Drivers parked in restricted areas will receive automatic Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs).

  • Penalty charge: £70
  • Discounted rate: £35 if paid within 14 days

The council urges all parents and carers to park safely and responsibly to avoid receiving a PCN. The enforcement car, alongside the Civil Enforcement team, aims to create a safer environment for all road users near schools.
