Poor punctuality is not acceptable. When a child misses the start of the school day, they miss valuable learning time and important information from their class teacher. Arriving late can also disrupt lessons, cause embarrassment for the child and even lead to increased absence.
Lateness adds up - being just 15 minutes late every day adds up to two weeks of school missed each year.
- Teachers welcome pupils from 8.50am - please aim for this time so your child can settle in calmly.
- The school day begins at 9am. Pupils should be in class and ready to learn by this time.
- Dinner choices are recorded at 9:00am and lessons start immediately after.
Please ensure your child arrives on time every day.
Late Arrivals
- If your child arrives after 9am, you will need to sign them in at the school office and they will receive a late mark.
- After 9.30am, registers close. In line with regulations, arrivals after this time will be marked as unauthorised absence, even though your child is on site.
Late arrivals must enter through the main entrance and be signed in by a parent or guardian. This ensures every child is accounted for in case of an emergency.
Persistent Lateness
If your child is regularly late, we will invite you to a meeting to discuss and resolve the issue. However, please feel free to contact us at any time if you are experiencing difficulties getting your child to school on time, we’re here to help.
