Return to School
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you've all had a wonderful summer and created some lovely memories with your families. As the return to school approaches and we prepare to welcome the children back, I would like to make you aware of some ongoing works at the school.
Prior to the summer holidays the school roof was being renewed, this has now been completed. However, the two storey block is now in the process of having windows replaced and this is expected to last for approximately 3 weeks. For the health and safety of all we have had to put in place some restrictions.
School will reopen for the children on Tuesday 2nd September. All nursery and reception children will also start school on this date.
The top gate near the surgery car park will be open only to nursery, reception and year 1 children. Gates at the top for nursery, reception and year 1 children will open at 8.50 am as usual and children can be collected from the same place at 3.15 pm
For all other children, i.e years 2,3,4,5 and 6, please park in the surgery car park and walk along Victoria Street to the main entrance of the school. The ramp down to the school in the school grounds will be closed off.
The main entrance will be open from 8.50 am.
At home collection time year 2 will exit from the school hall door, year 3 will exit from the Parish Hall at the top of the school, years 4 and 5 will exit from the main entrance to the school and year 6 will exit through the den classroom as normal.
We are mindful that you may have children in two different areas of the school and that collecting them may take some time. The children will remain with their teachers until collected by the appropriate adult.
During the next few weeks, the works being carried out may cause some disruption to planned PE lessons, however, please send your child into school in their PE kits on the designated day as alternative PE arrangements will be made.
If your child/children attend Breakfast Club, please park in the surgery car park and walk your children down Victoria Street to the main school entrance (you will not be able to access the ramp into school). Breakfast Club begins at 8.20 am and the latest entrance for this is 8.35 am. Forms must be completed prior to your children accessing Breakfast Club. These forms are available in school Reception area.
A polite reminder that Our Lady of the Angels School is working towards becoming a healthy school, therefore children will only be permitted to eat fruit or vegetables during their morning break.
As the weather is now becoming cooler, it is requested that your children wear the 'winter' uniform of shirts, ties, trousers/skirts and pullover/cardigan and black shoes (not trainers).
