School Information

Dear parents/carers,

Welcome to the new school year.  I hope that you have had a happy summer holiday.  A very warm welcome to all our new pupils and their families, we hope that they all settle quickly into school life and enjoy their time at Our Lady's.

Our school day starts at 9am, pupils should be in and ready to learn by that time.  Pupils are welcomed by their teacher at 8.50am, please aim for this time.  Pupil's dinner options are recorded at 9am and lessons commence.  Please ensure that your child is on time.

Torfaen Catering offer a free breakfast to all pupils, here at Our Lady of the Angels RC Primary School.

Breakfast Club is held in the School Hall and doors open at 8.20am.  Doors close at 8.35am, promptly, in order to give the pupils time to eat their breakfast comfortably.  They will then go straight to their classrooms.  Pupils must be registered to attend, in advance.  Breakfast Club forms are available from the School Office.

If you are dropping your child off/picking up by car, please use the top car park.  The gates on Victoria Street should be kept clear.  When using the top car park, please be considerate to others.

Absence Procedures

If your child is absent from school it is important that you contact the school by 9.30am on the first day of non-attendance to give the reason for their absence. Call 01633 484673 and choose option 1 to report your child’s absence,  email head.cwmbranrc@torfaen.gov.uk or send a message via the School Gateway app.

If your child is unwell you must inform the school of the nature of the illness and not just state “not very well”. If your child is attending an appointment please send in a copy of the appointment letter, where possible, for our records. Pupil absence/lateness is monitored closely by the Education Welfare Officer.

Please ensure that your child brings a water bottle labelled with their name to school each day. Children will have access to their bottle whenever they need it.  Please provide a healthy option for your child's playtime snack e.g. fruit, cheese, yoghurt.
